uTip Privacy Policy

Information processed by the app

uTip uses the bill amount and tip percentage you enter to calculate the tip and total, including any whole-dollar rounding you choose. These calculations happen locally on your device. Bill amounts, tip percentages, and calculated totals are not transmitted to external servers.

Local preferences and storage

uTip stores your dark-mode and larger-text preferences locally on your device. These preferences are used to apply your chosen display settings.

Data collection and sharing

uTip does not require an account and does not intentionally collect personal information. The app does not transmit your calculation inputs or results to external servers for collection or sharing.

No advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs were identified in the current app audit.

Device permissions

uTip does not require access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or location.

Data retention and deletion

Display preferences remain in the app's local storage until you change them or remove the app's local data. To remove local preferences, use your device's available app-data or uninstall controls. Your device's settings determine how local app data is cleared.

Because bill amounts, tip percentages, and calculated totals are not sent to external servers, there are no server copies of those calculations to retain or delete.

If you choose to email support@tyleryates.me, your email includes your address, your message, and any information you voluntarily provide so we can respond. The uTip app does not automatically send this information.

Children's privacy

uTip does not intentionally collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you have a concern about a child's information in a support message, contact us at support@tyleryates.me.
